God, just walking home from the T tonight I was attacked by at least 4 trash barrels blowin in the wind.  I guess I shouldn't complain.  At least massachusetts is not on fire.

I don't know what possessed you to say that about the fire, but that is kind of a cool imagery...wait, I mean, it's cool. Am I a psycho? Maybe.

Well, I almost destroyed the lives of 30~60 people today. I was walking down a sidewalk, and I saw this huge pink Styrofoam board on the road left to me. It apparently blew off from the construction site from my left, and since, I wanted to be a good citizen, I picked it up. I tried to push it over the fence back into the construction zone, but then a wind blew, the pink board flew up in the air, and smacked a tour bus in the windshield. Go figure.

Only God knows that I was trying to do the right thing...if that bus swerved and crashed, I would have ran like hell.

if the bus crashed, i bet steveno would have liked it. [smiley=wink]

Thanks, PorkLoins. Yes, I think it would have been a cooler story if the bus had crashed.

Good day not to drive an 18 wheeler huh? Those things must be hell on wheels in wind like this.

What possessed me... well, what I meant was that it's kind of trivial for me to be complaining about our little windy day, when across the country people are dealing with having everything they own being gobbled up by a raging wild fire.

On the scale of Natural Disasters, "Slightly Windy Day" ranks pretty low. "Everything You Own Being Burned To The Ground" ranks somewhere up there with Category 5 hurricanes and freak tornados... Or worse. It must be a nightmare. That is all I am saying with the fire comment.

I'm not sure what imagery you are talking about. Massachusetts on fire? That is not cool imagery to me. I think you are psycho! Or are we just completely misunderstanding each other? [smiley=think]

I actually think it's a cool imagery too...in a way that it's not homes, people, or trees being on fire. It's the WHOLE "Massachusetts". I think the reason it's funny is because it's like the "concept" or "word" of Massachusetts being on fire. (because unlike people or fire, a state cannot catch on fire.)

Thanks, Spooky. You have captured my thoughts exactly. (It's all about the semantics.) I picture looking North East from Manhattan, and I see a gigantic apocalyptic fire that rises miles into the sky. ...and Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont, completely not-on-fire. (I mean...I don't want to misquote anyone here.)
