It really should be on a weekend. Who can go on a weekday other than college students? The rest of us either have to work, or are kids who will be in school. All fine and dandy if you work anywhere near the parade route, but hello, most of us don't. And I'm not going to skip a day of work to watch the duck boats go by. I seem to remember it being on a Saturday last time, could be wrong though. Also, doesn't it coincide with Free Taco Day!?!?!?! That is a travesty. If there are any Taco Bells along Boylston Street, I feel bad for you guys. You are gonna get hammered with 30,000 red sox fans all demanding their free tacos. Good luck. I'll be at work, thanks.

BonesI agree, it's really crappy to have it on a weekday. Maybe they are trying to keep crowds down, but that's lame. What's the point then? 3. Guest UserI neither go out of my way to honor or to denigrate the Red Sox. I am glad they won the World Series twice and hope we can move on to a more sportsmanlike fan base in the future (though I have my doubts). But let's face it, these overpaid self-centered athletic divas aren't going to wait around in Boston for a week so that the fans can prostrate themselves in an attitude of devotion on a day more convenient to the general public. If you want these prima-donnas to make a nod toward your obsequies you are going to have to do it now because these "role models" are out of here. And it ain't to Disney World either! It's anyplace other than Boston where their hearts lie. Face it, they have only one loyalty - that's to the green. 4. ThorpeSad, but at least partially true from Mr. Guest User. I heard Schilling on WEEI this morning. After he gushed about how much he loves Boston and is happiest here, they asked him "would you come back to the Sox if they offered you a 1 year contract at half your current salary? That's a MILLION DOLLARS A MONTH." I don't remember the exact wording, but that is almost exactly how the question was phrased. I am not embellishing.
He said flat out no.
At least he's honest. 5. squeegeeboyeveryone get their free tacos? |
