I feel like a grumpy old dude ranting about this but here goes.  I live on a semi-busy street.  My bedroom is on the street side (an oversight I regret now).  Why do guys have to drive by with their loud-ass harleys at 120 decibels?  And why, oh why, do they EVER do it at night?  I swear, sometimes I'm just falling asleep at around 12 or 1am when suddenly it's like there is a 747 driving through my bedroom.

Look, when you drive by on your loud-ass bike, I don't see you.  I don't look your way, and even if I did, I wouldn't even take notice of what you look like or who you are.  So whether you think you are impressing someone or just trying to compensate for the size of your penis, no one actually notices you or cares that you have an expensive noisemaker.  I am sorry you didn't get enough attention when you were a kid and have to make up for it in this way.  But again, no one cares.

If you guys want to form some motorcycle community somewhere away from the rest of civilization, go right ahead and be as loud as you want.  The rest of us would appreciate it.

THANK YOU... I've never personally known anyone who rides a "loud-ass" harley but since the only way we know them is by their "loud-ass" inconsiderate bikes, I have to believe they are all inconsiderate. At least, the ones with the pipes.

Somebody tell me I'm wrong.

Isn't there some noise ordinance in boston that covers stuff like this?

Never take a bedroom on the street side on a busy street. been there, done that. nothing good ever comes of it. If you have central air and can keep the windows closed all year long you can maybe get away with it...

Chapter 90 Section 16 of the Mass General Laws prohibits any change to the exhaust system of any vehicle that increases the noise output from standard factory settings. The fine is $100, and it IS surchargeable. Problem is, too many cops can't be bothered writing this ticket unless they've already stopped the biker for wearing a toy (non DOT) helmet... another ticket that's not written often enough!
6. Biker Chick...not!
It feels like all rules just do not apply to the bikers. Ooh, maybe I will rant about this one.
