Hi everyone, new here.  But totally psyched that it was sunny until 5:30 yesterday!  I love the fact that congress made Daylight Savings last longer this year, but I wish they would just abandon Standard Time altogether, and live on DST (summer time) year round.

Yeah, the downside is that it gets light later in the morning.  But I think most people, at least most people I know, get up around that time anyways (7am or so), so big deal?  It's really great to have it light later in the day.  I hate leaving work in the afternoon in the dark!

This weekend the clocks will go back and we'll be thrust back into darkness at 4:30 every day.  People will start jumping off of the Tobin bridge, the Pats will start losing (ok probably not), and everything will turn to anarchy, until next spring when we can turn them forward again.  Why bother changing the clocks for just a few months out of the year?

I second that. I think the whole idea of DST is way out of date.

Also, I find it funny that since Congress made that law, Daylight Savings time actually lasts longer than Standard Time. So there's really nothing "standard" about Standard time.

I love how you managed to take a title like "<
BLANK>
IS AWESOME" and turn it into a rant.

Hmm, that is kind of backwards huh. I heard the point of daylight savings is to save energy by using less lights in the evening since its lighter later. I don't know why that doesn't apply in the winter. Now that I think about it switching to standard time doesn't make any sense at all.

But wait, if we got rid of standard time, then... daylight savings time would be standard time. So why didn't they just move everything an hour earlier rather than come up with this two times system? Maybe it made more sense way back when this way.
