Corporate America eats children for dinner |

I have always loved this restaurant because there are so many choices
of food and while often the portions are too much, almost anyone can
find something to eat there.
Until it comes to issues. My children recently purchased a large
amount on a gift card for our anniversary. And as children often due,
they lost the card. They had the receipt, but the company refused to
assist them by making it right. My young kids did something wonderful
for their parents anniverary only to find an unforgiving corporate
america to help them in return their hard earned money.
They saved for months to proudly take their parents out for a special
dinner only to have that company dismiss them as stupid children.
We will never eat there again.
Readers have left 9 comments. 1. Kumarlicious Oh, gosh. This sucks. 2. King1Midas Feel your pain. They can't invalidate the existing card and issue you another one, huh? That's ridiculous. It's not CASH! 3. Boscorelli They should be able to invalidate the old one, as the only thing the card stores is an ID #. All the information like remaining balance, when purchased, etc. should all be stored on a corporate server and the card is simply a reference to that information. If you have the receipt, hopefully with the Card ID on it, I think they could do this small favor. 4. KillazMullaz ...but theoretically, anyone can mention random IDs and invalidate other people's cards, no? if you have the receipt...maybe... 5. GGGGGGuessssstttt This is another reason I hate the concept of gift cards. This is a result of consumer desperation where they couldn't come up with their own gifts. 6. Guest User Well, I hate gift cards too, but not for the same reason. It's like trading in real money to another form that has disadvantages...lose flexibility (can't choose where to use it), often expires, collects no interest....too many risks. of course, unless they give you like $50 value for $40. which i did at a local restaurant. 7. swesson You are missing the point, people. 8. CorpAmerSucks Those F'ers. Why don't you tell us which establishment it is? If you are gonna post a rant, you better get some benefits out of it! (and the rest of us would rather not eat at jerk restaurants like that.)
Is it Red Lobster? I just went there yesterday, so I hope not 9. hhhssshhh yes use the power of network. i will boycott it too. i dont care about you and your kids but with so many choices these days, any reason not go to a joint makes it easier. |
