I can't stand my mom. She puts parental controls on EVERY electronic device I own! Frankly, it annoys the crap out of me. I'm 13 and while I understand why I'm given parental controls, they just shouldn't happen. I'm only on the computer a hour or two a day, and usually only go on 2 or 3 days a week. These parental controls are so stupid that it even blocks websites like the Sims 3, and even Hotmail! Another thing that pisses me off is that I can't have a Facebook page. It's a lot safer than Myspace, and it's not like I'm going to do anything bad or talk to strangers. Also, the only way I could have a Facebook is if I let my mom be my friend. That's bad because I'll get made fun of a lot. I would love to see some comments on what you  guys think, because I personally think my parents are being unreasonable.

I'd say that those are things you should talk about and discuss a way that you can establish trust and rules around the use of those things. As far as facebook goes, I agree it's safer than myspace. And a lot of people have their parents linked to their accounts you can even specifically say that someone is your parent or sibling now it's not a big deal and I doubt anyone would care enough to tease you about it. If so, they have waaay too much time on their hands.
Your parents are trying to keep you safe but it sounds like over-censoring things and not discussing things with your or allowing trust to build is not the way to handle things.

Way too strict.

Ive had so many arguments about adding my mum on facebook. She says shes hurt and its disrespectful but i dont care. She pried into my life once, couldnt take it and it caused massive problems. I'm not letting her in again just to monitor who i talk to.

Stand your ground, your right.
